Temple Tuesday: My newest temple

"Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Cor. 6:19–20).

This is Tiago, the new little temple we welcomed into our home this month. He's been keeping me distracted the last 9 months from doing a good job on Temple Tuesdays. I hope to get back on track soon though :)

Temple Tuesday #41

“The world can be a challenging and difficult place in which to live. We are often surrounded by that which would drag us down. As you and I go to the holy houses of God, as we remember the covenants we make within, we will be more able to bear every trial and to overcome each temptation. In this sacred sanctuary we will find peace; we will be renewed and fortified” - Pres. Thomas S. Monson

Salt Lake Temple - The House of the Lord

"Some degree of sacrifice has ever been associated with temple building and with temple attendance. Countless are those who have labored and struggled in order to obtain for themselves and for their families the blessings which are found in the temples of God." - Pres. Monson

"If you live within relatively close proximity to a temple, your sacrifice could be setting aside the time in your busy lives to visit the temple regularly.” —President Thomas S. Monson.

It would be a fine thing if … parents would have in every bedroom in their house a picture of the temple so [their children] from the time [they are] infant[s] could look at the picture every day [until] it becomes a part of [their lives]. When [they reach] the age that [they need] to make [the] very important decision [concerning going to the temple], it will have already been made. - President Spencer W. Kimball

Come to the temple and then come again. Making and keeping temple covenants will keep us on course to the greatest of all blessings—eternal life. - Barbara Thompson

Temple Tuesday #36

Temple ordinances guide us to our Savior and give us the blessings that come to us through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Temples are the greatest university of learning known to man, giving us knowledge and wisdom about the Creation of the world. Endowment instructions give guidance as to how we should conduct our lives here in mortality. … The ordinance consists of a series of instructions on how we should live and covenants we make to live righteously by following our Savior.” - Robert D. Hales

"True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost." - Arthur Ashe

What do you sacrifice to serve in the temple or in your community? A movie with your spouse or friends? Money for a babysitter? Grocery shopping without kids? A hobby? How will you be a hero this week and make service a priority?

Temple Tuesday #29

O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God...I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth. -Alma 29

So I know it isn't entirely a temple quote, but I absolutely love this scripture! Since most of our temples are topped with the angel Moroni as the lightning rod, a quote on angels and spreading the gospel seem appropriate :) Let us all be more determined and courageous in accepting, living, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reduced prices on prints!

I've changed ALL the prices for prints so they are a lot more affordable. I still have higher priced items (like canvases, mounted photos, and framed pieces), but the standard prints are all cheaper! Of course, if you're local, you can save on shipping by coming to my own little "Bee Square Boutique" (ie my house!).

I recently found out about an old high school friend who has a sweet 4 year old with stage 4 cancer. The day I found out, I looked at my own precious 4 year old with tears in my eyes. I can't imagine the physical trial little Jessica is facing, nor the emotional trial her family is facing, but I can imagine the financial burden they will be facing for some time to come with all the treatment costs. Amazing friends have already been helping in many ways.

After much thought, I finally came up with something that I could maybe do to help: a SPECIAL EDITION print of the St George Temple.
